Facts about Dumitru Duduman

A

Christian from Romania who spent many years trying to smuggle Bibles into Russia
Was imprisoned and tortured on many occasions but would not give up on his mission.
He continued his work despite being seriously injured in prision
Tells of many times God protected him - God blinded the eyes of the police so they would not see the car filled with Bibles
Over a 15-year period he smuggled more than 300,000 Bibles and New Testaments into Russia.
He was eventually force to leave Romania as the government didn’t not approve of his work.
Lived in California where in preached and spread the word of God until he died.

How was the Old Testament put together?

A

Important stories were passed down by word of mouth for centuries
It then became a habit to write things down and store them in a special place. The 10 Commandments were written on small tablets of stone.
From the time of Samuel, the words of prophets were recorded by their followers.
Religious songs (Psalms) were probably started by King David. There are 150 Psalms in the Bible.
By the 5th century BC, the Pentateuch was complete. Judas Maccabeus finally arranged the parts under the headings of Law, Prophets and writings.
