Henry’s father was the half-brother of Henry VI, as they shared the same mother, Catherine.
Henry’s mother came from the bastard line of John of Gaunt, The Beauforts.
What event made Henry a threat to the throne?
The Battle of Barnet. King Henry VI was killed as he usurped Edward, and his heir Edward the Prince of Wales died in battle.
Which Rebellion did Henry support when Richard III became King?
Buckingham’s Rebellion in 1484
Which King supported Henry’s campaign and why?
King Charles VIII of France. He believed that if Henry succeeded, then a strong alliance could be formed.
When did Henry land in England?
7th August 1485 in the South West of Wales.

Henry had about 5,000 and Richard had about 12,000.

Richard’s army was placed at the crest of Ambien Hill, while Henry was at the bottom in marsh lands.

Why did Richard charge, and what were the consequences?
Richard charged at Henry, as he was seen to be moving towards Lord Stanley and Richard believed he was going to try and win their support. Richard charged and managed to kill Henry’s standard bearer, William Brandon. However Stanley and Henry’s troops fought together and killed Richard. Making Henry the new King of England.
