Q

What is Paley’s argument based on?

A

Complexity (complexity of biological organisms/organs), regularity (orbits of comets, moons, planets and the order of the seasons of each year) and purpose (humans can make machines, they are built for purpose).

Q

What does his design argument consist of?

A
  • Objects in the world show clear evidence that they were designed because they exhibit complexity and regularity, therefore must have a purpose.
  • the universe appears to exhibit complexity and regularity therefcrett must have a purpose
  • object nave a designer, therefore the universe must have a designer.
