Why did the Balkan wars cause tension?
A
Russia backed the Balkan league to force concessions from Turkey, whereas Austria backed Turkey to stop Serbia from expanding at Austria’s expense.

What were the outcomes of the Balkan wars?
A
Turkey lost virtually all of its European territory
Serbia doubled in size, but were resentful at Austria for creating Albania and denying them access to the sea
From Serbia’s military victory, Russia had won a diplomatic victory

A
Germany backed Austria’s ultimatum for Serbian troops to leave Albania, and although this may be seen as standing by their ally, it was certainly a flamboyant move by the Kaiser
