Q

What maintains the Lateral Stability of the Ankle?

A

Bone: Lateral Maleolus
Static: ATFL, calcanealfibular lig and ft capsule (weak)
Dynamic: Peroneus brevis, proneus longue (very weak)

** This is why 80-85% of ankles sprains are on the lateral side ***
