Medical air - White
oxygen generator
used in practice instead of a gas or piped cylinder oxygen
Pressure Gauge
provides information on the gas left in the cylinder or pipeline gas supply.
should be checked before using the anaesthetic machine as part of your equipment checklist
Pressure reducing valve
reduces the pressure coming from the gas coming from the cylinder and maintains a constant pressure to prevent any surge in the pressure being relayed to the patient
flowmeter/ rotameter
provides the final stage in the reduction of the pressure of gas and they allow manual adjustment of the volume of gas delivered to the patient
emergency oxygen flush
provides oxygen directly from the cylinder or pipeline directly bypassing the vaporiser
mini schrader sockets
gas sockets that provide oxygen or air to power ventilators
Vaporiser
automatically compensate if the temperature changes to ensure maintenance of a constant concentrations of inhalation agent in the delivered gas mixture
