Name one skill that they were taught and explain how?
The art of stealth. They were sent out into the wilderness and forced into a situation where they have to steal food to survive. However if they were caught, they were severely beaten, not because they were stealing, but because they got caught.
Teamwork became second nature for members of the Agoge as they spent almost all of their time eating, sleeping, training or competing with their fellow warriors-to-be. The idea was to make them get to know each other as a brother as one day they would rely on each other in battle.
Once they had completed the agoge, did the men finish there?
No, they then took up roles to train the next generation of boys. They also continued to each their meals in the Agoge mess halls despite living at home with a wife.
