The Care Act 2014
The Care Act 2014 sets out how care and support in England should be provided to adults with care needs, including older people, and how it is paid for.
The Health and Socail care act 2012
The main purpose of the Health and Care Act is to establish a legislative framework that supports collaboration and partnership-working to integrate services for patients.
The Equality Act 2010
The Equality Act 2010 legally protects people from discrimination in the workplace and in wider society.
The Mental Capacity Act 2005
The Mental Capacity Act 2005 is a law that protects vulnerable people over the age of 16 around decision-making. It says that: Every adult, whatever their disability, has the right to make their own decisions wherever possible.

The Act aims to improve effective local working to safeguard and promote children’s well- being.
The Data protection Act 1998
The Act seeks to empower individuals to take control of their personal data and to support organisations with their lawful processing of personal data.
Human Rights Act 1998
The Human Rights Act gives you legal protection of your human rights, such as your right to a fair trial.
Children and familes act 2014
The aim is to give good support to children and young people with special educational needs or a disability, and their families. The Act helps children with disabilities too, even if they don’t have special educational needs.
How does The Care Act 2014 support individuals rights ?
The Care Act 2014 places a duty on local authorities to promote an individual’s “wellbeing”. This means that they should always have a person’s wellbeing in mind when making decisions about them or planning services. Wellbeing can relate to: Personal dignity, including treating the individual with respect.

provides Britain with a discrimination law which protects individuals from unfair treatment and promotes a fair and more equal society
How does The Mental Capacity Act 2005 support individuals rights?
It does this in two ways: By empowering people to make decisions for themselves wherever possible, and by protecting people who lack capacity by providing a flexible framework that places individuals at the heart of the decision-making process.
How does The Childern Act 2004 support individuals rights?
the 2004 Children Act provides the legal basis for how social services and other agencies deal with issues relating to children, and provides the legal foundation that underpins the UK government’s ‘Every Child Matters: Change for Children’ initiative that was introduced in 2004
How does The data Protection Act 1998 support individuals rights?
the Data Protection Act, individuals have a right to ask whether you are processing their personal data, for a description of their personal data, and the purpose it is held for, a description of who (people/organisations) might see their personal data and for a copy of the information.
How does the Human Rights Act 1998 support individuals rights?
rights to education, freedom of expression, non-discrimination and protection of property. gives you legal protection of your human rights, such as your right to a fair trial
