Patient remove metal (piercings, jewellery, underwear)
ID checked (name, dob, address) - procedure confirmed
Explanation of procedure & consent obtained

Positioning

A

Supine on table arms slightly abducted away from body
Spinous process midline of vertebral bodies, align with midline
Iliac crests should appear symmetrical indicating no rotation
MSP fully aligned to centre of detector
