=> supine AP abdomen
Additional
=> kidneys utterer bladder (KUB)
=> lateral decubitis
=> prone
=> erect abdomen
Room prep
Grid used - IR placed in table bucky
Beam = 90°
SID = 100cm
Patient prep
Exam justified (history, referer)
Correct patient selected on computer
Patient changed into gown
Patient remove metal (piercings, jewellery, underwear)
ID checked (name, dob, address) - procedure confirmed
Explanation of procedure & consent obtained
LMP
Once positioned move table only
Positioning
Supine on table arms slightly abducted away from body
Spinous process midline of vertebral bodies, align with midline
Iliac crests should appear symmetrical indicating no rotation
MSP fully aligned to centre of detector
Centring point
Midline at level of iliac crests
