The 7 steps of the Scientific Method Flashcards
What is the first step of the Scientific Method?
Look at the world. Use the 5 senses.
What is the second step of the Scientific Method?
Ask questions. E.g. How does/do…? What effect does…? Which type of…? What happens to…?
What is the third step of the Scientific Method?
Form a prediction (hypothesis). Use 2 ‘er’ words, make sure it is specific and measurable.
What is the fourth step of the Scientific Method?
Collect and record data. Run the experiment, but first don’t forget to make a list of equipment and the method. When recording data, be accurate and precise.
What is the fifth step of the Scientific Method?
Interpret results. Take your results and observe them, find out the meaning of the results. This is usually done by turning your results into a graph.
What is the sixth step of the Scientific Method?
Draw conclusions. Sum up the entire experiment and, using your results, decide whether your hypothesis was correct or incorrect. Use R.E.R.U.N.
What is the seventh step of the Scientific Method?
Communicate findings. This is usually done by writing a Scientific Article, including the entire process of the Scientific Method.
