- to defend Islam
Khums
- it is the 20% annual tax that is paid on any profit
- split between charities
- charities that support Islamic education and the descendants of Prophet Muhammad
Amr-bil maruf
- Refers to encouraging anything that is good
- anything that has been approved in Shari’ah law
Nahi anil munkar
-forbidding evil by discouraging people from doing wrong
Tawallah
-loving everyone
Tabarra
-disassociation with God’s enemies

Shias add on the phrase ‘and Ali is the friend of god’ to remember ali

- Shi’a pray with their hands by their side and on a piece of earth
- Sunni clasp their hands and can pray on any surface
- Sunni pray five prayers at five different times of the day
- Shi’a pray 5 prayers in 3 different times of the day
