- Identify the Pilgrims reasons for coming to New England
The Pilgrims wants to come to New England because: 1. They wanted to separate from the Church of England
- They had different religious beliefs than the Church of England
- They would be put in prison of they broke away from the church of England
- They wanted to raise families and start farms and live oi the new land, a new life in a new lands where they could have any religion they wanted
- Describe the Pilgrims journey on the Mayflower
The Pilgrims journey on the Mayflower was crowded. The ship was not meant to carry than many people so they had to sleep below the main deck, There was very little fresh air or light.
- Explain the Mayflower Compact and why it was written
The Mayflower Compact was a contract that the Pilgrims leaders drew up that said that all the passengers from he Mayflower would work together to govern themselves in the new land. They agreed to vote in this contract and obey all of the rules. They agreed that the majority rules.
