A
- A texture consisting of a solo music line
- one instrument or singer
- no accompaniment

A
- Two or more melodies or parts that play at the same time, weaving in and out of each other
- sometimes called contrapuntal music
- may contain imitation

A

When all voices or instruments sing or play the same melody at their octave.

Where melody in one part is repeated a few notes later in a different part

A
- Simultaneous variation of a single melody line
- variation of melody is played over the original melody
- usually found in gamelan music
