testtttt Flashcards
filteration
used to separate an insoluble solid from a liquid you use a filter funnel and a filter paper and the water leaves through the paper and the solid is left
crystallisation
used to separate a soluble solid from a liquid. you make the solid evaporate
distillation
used to separate water from a solid and keep the water. you heat the solution which turns into a gas and the rises up through the gas tube and then the gas goes through the cold condenser and then when it passes through the condenser it condenses and turns into a liquid and pours out so at the end were left with the crystals of the solid in the beaker and the liquid.
condensing
gases to liquid
chromatography
you draw a horizontal line in pencil because the pencil wont dissolve in the solvent and then you put dots of the colours you want to test then you have the solvent move up the paper and carrying the colours if the colours separate the compound is a mixture and if it has not separated the compound is pure
element
an element is something made up of 1 type of atom
compound
a compound is something with 2 or more elements chemically joined together
mixture
a mixture is something made up of 2 or more different substances not chemically joined together
what is the bonding that happens between non metals
convent bonding Ayaan chunky and fat no cap
what is the bonding that happens between non metals and metals
ionic bonding .how are you here u should skip this its way to ez ykyk
what was new lands law of octaves
the law of octaves was when you arranged the elements in increasing atomic weight it was rejected because it didn’t work with elements past calcium
how many elements are there
around 100
why was Mendeleev’s table accepted
it was accepted because he did 2 things no other scientist had done before this was leaving spots for undiscovered elements and he would switch the place for some elements to fit the patterns of the groups.
what is the function of white blood cells and what dose it do
white bloods cell catch micro organisms which helps prevent disease
what is the function of leaf cells and what dose it do
leaf cells absorb light this is used for photosynthesis
what is the function of cells in the intestine and what dose it do
cells in the intestine produce enzymes this is used to digest food.
what is the function of red blood cells and what dose it do
red blood cells transport oxygen and this is used for respiration.
what dose the nucleus do
it controls the cell
