Turns red then (bleaches)

Filter paper dipped in acidified potassium dichromate (VI) solution
Orange –> green

Glass rod dipped in concentrated HCL
–> misty fumes

Damp UI paper -> turns red

Pass through limewater (calcium hydroxide solution)
Limewater turns colourless to milky but if CO2 is in excess milky ppt redisolves to give a clear solution
