- you must assume its toxic
- keeping the gas in a fume cupboard to prevent you from breathing in toxic fumes

How do you test for Carbon dioxide?
A
bubble gas through limewater - if it’s carbon dioxide the limewater will turn cloudy

How do you test for Hydrogen?
A
Place a lit splint in the gas - if the gas is hydrogen it will make a squeaky pop noise.

A
Place a glowing splint in gas, if it’s oxygen the splint will relight.

A
damp (blue) litmus/universal indicator paper - if it’s chlorine it will turns red then white.
