test8/14/2024 Flashcards
is the branch of science and engineering focused
on learning about and creating robots or machines that can
do work.
Robotics
enable students of all ages to become familiar
with and deepen their knowledge of robotics and programming,
while at the same time learning other cognitive skills.

THREE LAWS OF ROBOTICS
- A robot must not injure a human being or, through
inaction, allow a human being to come to harm. - A robot must obey the orders given it by human beings
except where such orders would conflict with the First Law. - A robot must protect its own existence as long as such
protection does not conflict with the First and Second Laws.

ROBOT COMPONENTS
- SENSORS
2.EFFECTORS - CONTROL SYSTEM
are what allow a robot to gather information
about its environment.
Sensors
-are parts of the robot that actually do the work.
- can be any sort of tool that you can mount on
your robot and control with the robot’s computer.
Effectors
-these robots are
used as
helpers in
cleaning the
house.
HOUSEHOLD
ROBOTS
is that part of the robot that
determines the robot’s behavior.
“control system”
-consist of bomb
detecting
robots, and
robot that can
carry supplies
and
equipment.
MILITARY
ROBOTS
-these robots
can often be
found in
factories or
manufacturin
g plants.
INDUSTRIAL
ROBOTS
-these robots are
employed for
entertainment
or used as
toys for
children.
ENTERTAINMEN
T
ROBOTS
-robots
employed in
medical
institutes.
These robots
are very
precise in
their
performance.
MEDICAL
ROBOTS
-these robots
could be
various data
collecting
robots, robots
employed for
research, etc.
