What were the symptoms of the plague?
fever, headache, chills, weakness, and swollen, tender lymph glands
How did it spread?
Carried by the fleas on rats, the plague initially spread to humans
What is the origin of the plague?
1346 and most likely spread by fleas, on black rats that traveled on ships. It soon spread through the Mediterranean and Europe.
What were the conditions of the plague in western Europe?
People needed to get help, seeing that the symptoms of the plague was killing the citizens.
How were patients treated?
Given antibiotics within 24 hours of the first symptoms to prevent death. And possibly surgery.
Why was the plague important?
The plague first began in Central Asia and spread to Europe through vast trade routes such as the Silk Road.
