- The what forms the lower and back part of the hip bone?
The ischium because it is the lower part of the hip bone. Pg.36
- The what is the back part of the brain.
The occipital forms the back part of the skeletons skull. Pg. 39
- Is the parietal bone flat or short?
It is flat because most of the bones in the body are flat and the side of the skull which is parietal is too. Pg.37
- The what bone is Side view of the teeth and jaws.
The zygomatic is because it is right beside your eye and on to your cheek. Pg.39
- What do ligaments do?
They attach bones to there other bones because they are held together by strong connective tissue. Pg.42
- List the four functions of the skeletal system.
Storage of minerals, blood protection, protect the organs, and work with muscles to move the body. Pg. 42
- The little black dots in the center of the osteons are called what?
They are called Haversian canals because they carry blood vessels and nerves throughout the body. Pg.42
- What are ribs attached to T11-T12 called?
Floating ribs because they do not connect to the sternum without touching another bone. Pg.36-37
- What bone or bones help to make up the orbit?
The zygomatic, sphenoid and frontal bones because they make up the skull and brain of the skeletal system which is the orbit. Pg.43
