A lit splint to the mouth of a test tube will produce a pop sound (if hydrogen is present)

Oxygen (O2)

Place a glowing splint in the gas, If there is oxygen it should relight

Question 3

Carbon Dioxide (CO2)

Answer 3

Bubble the gas through limewater, The limewater will go cloudy if there is CO2 present

Chlorine (Cl2)

Answer 4

Insert damp (red or blue) litmus paper, litmus paper is bleached (it looses its colour and goes white)
