Keep data management costs low with smaller sets of data that require less storage and fewer computing resources; Assure confidentiality of sensitive data; Assure privacy of information by not importing or masking private information; Reduce the likelihood of insider threats and frauds.
The goal of reporting defects is
To ensure that they get addressed. Information
that must be included in a defect report is: Defect Identifier (ID), Title, Description, Detailed Steps, Expected Results, Screenshot, Type, Environment, Build Number, Tester Name, Reported On, Severity, Priority, Status, Assigned to.
When reporting a defect, it is recommended to categorize as follow
Function (Coding bug, Design bug, Workflow error, Documentation issue) and Assurance (Injection flaw, Scripting issue, Memory management, Information disclosure).
A defect tracking system should have the ability to support the following requirements:
Defect documentation; Integration with Authentication Infrastructure; Customizable Workflow; Notification; Auditing capability.
