Purpose: Self Report Pain Scale Rating

2-7 years
ICF: Body and Structure
Areas: Measurement in 5 different categories, in children who are unable to communicate their pain.
Purpose: observational pain assessment (mood, temperament..etc.)

Areas Tested: Observation of Spontaneous Gross Motor Skills in 4 Areas: Prone, Supine, Sitting and Standing
Primary Purpose: To Identify infants and toddlers with gross motor delay and evaluate gross motor skill acquisition
Peabody Developmental Motor Scale-2
1-72 months (6 years)
ICF: Activity, Norm Referenced Standardized
Areas: 6 subcategories: Reflexes, Stationary, Locomotion, Object manipulation, grasping, visual-motor
Primary use: To determine estimate of overall motor abilities compared to typical for eligibility for services such as EI.
Gross Motor Function Measure
5 months -16 years, children with CP and DS
Best in ages 1-5
ICF: Activity, Criterion Referenced, Standarized
Areas: Gross Motor Function in rolling, crawling, sitting, standing, walking, running, jumping
Primary use is to assess the quantity of movement in these populations.
TIMP
Infants born premature 34 weeks post conceptual to 4 months post term. (38-40 weeks is full term)
ICF: Activity, Norm-Referenced Standardized
Areas: Looking at Postural Control of the head and trunk in supine, prone and upright positions
Primary Use: to discriminate infants with risk of poor motor outcomes. Sensitive to effects of interventions.
Note: Has Predictive validity for infants that are 3 months post term age to diagnose them with a neurological issue like CP if they score below the 10th percentile.
PEDI (pediatric evaluation of disability index)
6 months-7.5 years, and those whose functional abilities are less than 7 years.

NORM Referenced Standardized
Areas: Care Giving interview to determine level of self care and need for assistance
Primary purpose to identify functional ability of children with disabilities, considering level of caregiver assistance and adaptations.

Primary Use: EI and Research to determine developmental delay

SFA (School Function Assessment)
Children with disabilities in grades k-6 ICF:Activity and Participation Criterion Referenced Only used in School Judgement based with team Primary purpose: Measures social participation, tasks in school, support need, activity performace...etc.
CAPE and PAC
6-21 years (CAPE:30-45 min to administer, PAC 15-20 min, 30 min to score)
Areas:Discriminate Measurement tool 5 dimensions of participation: Diversity, intensity with whom, where and enjoyment.
PAC: assess preference for involvement in activities
CF: Participation
Purpose: Assesses multiple Dimension of Activity
Looks at day to day participation, recreation, social…etc.Can help determine a rehab program.
LIFE-H
Children with disabilities 5-13 years
ICF: Participation
Life Habits: Regular acitivites and Social roles of person in his/her life.
Measures of social participation

2-18 years, be aware of different forms for 2-4, 5-7, 8-12, 13-18
ICF: Participation
Meant to address health and role (school function)
Measures physical, emotional, social, school fucntion
Able to discriminate children with a variety of health conditions from children without health conditions.
