Cadenza

Written for 2 violins, a viola, & a cello.
Sonata Form
The form of a single movement consisting of the exposition (presents themes), the development (themes treated in new ways), & recapitulation (theme returns).
Theme & Variations
A basic musical idea where the theme is repetitive & changes each time.
Minuet & Trio
The third movement of classical symphonies, string quartets, & other works.
Opera
A drama that’s sung to orchestral accompaniment, usually a large-scale composition employing vocal soloists, chorus, orchestra, costumes, & scenery.
