Test 3 Flashcards
What engine is used on Delta’s A220-100s? A220-300s?
PW1521GA
PW1524G-3
In what order should the cowls be opened?
Fan cowls then thrust reversers
In what order should the thrust reverser latches be released?
BLS, 5, 4, 3, 2, 1
What is the primary safety concern prior to opening thrust reversers?
The slats will contact the inboard thrust reverser if lowered while I/B TR is raised.
The coating on one of the fan blades has eroded.
Can the aircraft be dispatched?
Yes. In most cases, the blade can be placed on monitor for 83 days.
What does the fan drive gear system do for the PW1500 engines?
Reduces the speed of the fan to 1/3 of N1
What indication is the primary thrust reference?
N1 speed
What provides power to the EEC?
PMAG when engines are running. (N2 > 45%)
Aircraft Power with engines off. (N2 < 45%)
What unit connects to the EEC and stores thrust rating and fan trim data?
Data Storage Unit
What component provides monitoring of vibes,
2.5 temp and pressure, oil debris, and fan drive gear system oil?
The Prognostic and Health
Monitoring Unit (PHMU)
What is the servicing window for engine oil?
5-60 minutes.
The engine must be run at idle for 5 minutes if outside the window.
Where can we check oil quantity?
Status synoptic page and tank sight gauge.
Engine Bleed air is supplied from what stages?
4th and 8th
What component controls which stage is supplying bleed air?
HPV
What prevents 8th stage air from back-flowing into stage 4?
Intermediate Pressure Check Valve (IPCKV)
