What is Voir Dire?
The process of questioning jurors to make sure they can be fair. Allowed to dismiss you.
What is the 8th Amendment?
Protects against excessive bail and unfair punishment
What is a bench trial?
Where the judge decides the case instead of the jury
What is the 14th amendment?
Grants citizenship to all born in the U.S. ensures equal protection under the law/ guarantees due process
What is Due Process?
The government must follow fair legal procedures
What is the 6th amendment?
Guarantees the right to a fair and speedy trial/ right to a lawyer

Police must inform a person of their rights before questioning. Right to remain silent and the right to an attorney. 5th Amend.
