setting interview stage 1:
select an appropriate location (safe and comfy, private and distraction free, allow victim to have some controll over surroundings, maintain equal or inferior position to victim

explain the purpose of the interview- purpose is to gather info & evidence not to blame or judge, there will be questions the victim cant answer. the victim DOES NOT have to make any immediate decisions about prosecution

demonstrate ability to understand emotional aspects- acknowledge trauma, “im sorry this happened to you”
