What is a Unitary Gov.
unitary system, a system of political organization in which most or all of the governing power resides in a centralized government.
What is a Confederate Government?
The definition of Confederate Government is one in which an alliance of independent states creates a central government of very limited power; the members states have supreme authority
What are the Fed. Gov. Powers
Under article 1 sec. 8
- governs in area of foreign policy
- coin money and regulate value
- national defense
- postal system

Freedom of religion

2nd Amendment
A well regulated militia being necessary to the security of a free state
The right if the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed
4th Amendment
Right of people to be secure in: persons,houses,paper, and affects.
Protects against unreasonable search and seizure
A specific warrant is needed
5th Amendment
No person shall be held to answer for a capital or otherwise infamous crime unless indicted by a grand jury.
No double jeopardy
Cannot self incriminate
Cannot be deprived of life,liberty, or property w/o due process of law
Nor shall private property be taken without just compensation.
6th Amendment
Speedy and public trial by impartial jury
To be informed of accusation
Confronted with witness in person
To have compulsory process to obtain witnesses and legal counsel
7th Amendment
If lawsuit is over 20$, the right to trial by jury shall be preserved
8th Amendment
No excessive bail
No cruel and unusual punishment
9th Amendment
rights listed in the Constitution cannot be used to deny other rights simply because they are not explicitly listed
10th Amendment
All powers not set aside to federal government by constitution are reserved to the states.
13th Amendment
Prohibits Slavery
14th Amendment
No state can take away right of a U.S. citizen
Nor shall any state deprive of life, liberty, or property w/o due process of law.
All persons born in U.S. or naturalized are citizens of U.S. and states where they reside.
16th Amendment
Congress shall have power to collect tax on income from whatever source derived.
