Microsystem
The environment in which individuals deal with family, friends, and schools. It consists of an immediate neighborhood in a child’s life.
Mesosystem
The system that links various Microsystems. It provides the overlap that occurs in our lives when one area of our experience intertwined with another.
Exosystem
The external environment that influences our lives. We usually have very little control over this.
Macrosystem
This is the overarching culture in which a child lives.
Chronosystem
The sequence of sociohistoric developments that occur during a child’s life.
TEKS
State standards that guide what content we teach.
Focus
Focuses the students on the learning objective.
Learning objective
Identifies what is to be learned by the end of the lesson.
Relevance
Explains why it is important to accomplish the objective.
Direct Instruction
Gives student information, sources, and skills they will need to accomplish the objective.
Modeling
Shows the process or product of what students are learning.
Check for understanding
Allows the teacher to informally verify if the student understands what they are learning throughout the lesson.
Guided Practice
Allows the students time to try the new learning under teacher guidance.
Closure
Allows students time to mentally summarize and internalize the new learning.
Independent Practice.
Students try new learning on their own to develop fluency.
Assessment
Links back to the objective; formal or informal; allows students to show individual mastery of the objective.

Put together parts into a unified whole.
Express original thoughts or make original products.
Combine, design, invent, plan, compose, organize, develop, create.
Level 6- Evaluation
Judge the value of something according to specific criteria.
Develop and apply standards and criteria.
Judge, recommend, debate, evaluate, summarize, criticize.
Verbal/Linguistic
Learn best through language.
Listening, speaking, reading, writing, telling, and discussing.
Logical/Mathematical
Learn best using numbers and analysis.
Visual/Spatial
Learn best when they can represent information visually.
Bodily/Kinesthetic
Learn best through action, hands-on activities, and the opportunity to manipulate materials.
Musical
Learn best through rhythm and music.
