Q

State what conclusion can be drawn about the effect of temp on the rate this reaction. Explain your conclusion using particles theory

A

The higher the temp the faster the reaction occurs as particles have more kinetic energy and move faster increasing the number of successful collisions

Q

Use information from the equation to explain why cross disappears

A

Sulfur starts to form into a solid and all the solid practices makes the water appear milky making the cross hard to see

Q

Draw a cross on the diagram to show a constructive plate boundary describe what happens at this boundary

A

Plates separate forming a gap Magma rises and cools in the atmosphere and creates new igneous rock ( the x is inbetween the South American plate and African plate)

Q

Give the letters of two particles which are ions explain your answer

A

A and F
A has more electrons than protons and f has more protons than electrons

17
Q

Give the observations made during the reactions of lithium, sodium and potassium with water. Explain the trend in reactivity in terms of electronic structure

A

Lithium fizzes/effervescence and moves across the surface of the water.
Sodium does the same as lithium however it also melts into a ball. Potassium does the same however it also produces lilac flame. Each reaction happens more vigorous as you move down the group as the outer electrons are further from the nucleus meaning they can easily gain or lose a electron to get a fuller outer shell

19
Q

Use the letters A-E to complete the following sentence
1.the atoms ground in group 5 are _______ and _____
2. The atoms an atomic number of 7 is _____
3. The atom that is an inert gas is _____
4. The atoms found in period 2 are______ and _____

A
  1. A and B
  2. B
  3. C
  4. D and B
