ORIENTATION
Prior to issuing an order the unit leader orients his subordinate leaders to the planned area of operation using a terrain model, map, or area of operation.

- SITUATION PARAGRAPH
After looking at the terrain as briefed in the Orientation, you need to understand who is in the immediate area. The situation paragraph provides details on both friendly and enemy personnel operating in your area. Combines your understanding of the terrain with the understanding of the enemy force you and facing and what friendly support you may have.

Equipment: What kind of weapons and equipment do they have?

2nd PARAGRAPH:
MISSION
The Mission Statement is a clear and concise statement (one simple sentence) of what the unit is assigned to accomplish
It answers the “5Ws”. (When, who, what, where, why)
The Mission Statement expresses the Units primary task and purpose represented by the “5Ws”.

WHY. (Purpose)
The WHY is predominant. Purpose is always represented by the words “IN ORDER TO”

EXECUTION
The execution paragraph contains the “HOW TO” info needed to conduct the operation. This paragraph consists of 4 sub paragraphs:

COMMANDERS INTENT
The purpose of providing intent is to allow subordinates to exercise judgment and initiative to depart from the original plan. There are 3 elements of the CI:
P - Purpose (why)
M - Method. (How)
E - Endstate (describes what the commander wants the situation to look like when the mission is accomplished in terms of friendly fire, enemy forces, and terrain
CONCEPT OF OPERATION
THE CONCEPT OF THE OPERATION INCLUDES TWO SUBPARAGRAPHS:
1. Scheme of Maneuver 2. Fire Support Plan
SCHEME OF MANEUVER
“Big Picture” or “Game Plan” for how the entire unit will work together to accomplish the mission.
TASKS
These are the specific tasks given to members of the fire team (or to subordinate leaders) on the scheme maneuver.
This is when you are speaking specifically to the subordinate on the part of the scheme of maneuver they will execute.
Task statements should always answer the “5Ws” for the missions you assign
COORDINATING INSTRUCTIONS
This paragraph contains instructions common to two or more people in the unit. There is no standard list of coordinating instructions that must be included in every order.

ADMINISTRATION AND LOGISTICS
This paragraph contains all the information necessary for subordinate units to coordinate their resupply, recovery of equipment, and evacuation of prisoners/wounded. This paragraph is represented by the
“4Bs”
WHAT ARE THE “4Bs” of the Administration and Logistics Paragraph?
- BEANS (Chow) How much food and water do we need?
- BULLETS (Ammunition) How much ammo do we have and how much do we need?
- BAND-AIDS (Medevac) How do we care for the injured?
- BADGUYS (EPWs) What do we do with EPWs?
5th PARAGRAPH:
COMMAND AND SIGNAL
THIS PARAGRAPH CONTAINS ANY SIGNALS THAT WILL BE USED TO COORDINATE MOVEMENT OR EVENTS WITH THE SCHEME OF MANEUVER. THIS PARAGRAPH ALSO IDENTIFIES THE LOCATION OF KEY LEADERS AND WHO WILL SUCCEED IN COMMAND IF KEY LEADERS BECOME CASUALTIES.
