Q

Why did the battle of Hastings start?

A

Because the Claiments to the throne all wanted to be the King but Harold Godwinson was chosen by the Witan. So Harold Hardrada fought against Harold Godwinson and Harold Godwinson won. As he was celebrating his victory William of Normandy (Duke William) built a fort there and camped at Hastings. So Harold Godinson travelled to Senlac Hill 5 miles from Hastings and stayed there.
