think harder – use their ‘doxa’ (think or themselves) rather than following the crowd. He told people to love wisely – improving the person you love so they can become the best they can be. He said we can learn from beauty which can inspire us, they are a model of what we could become if we tried. He also had ideas on how to change society such as children being brought up by trained specialists not parents, only being able to vote if intelligent and only respecting people who are intelligent.
