2 nobless oblige concept: obligated to help lesser in world, can do better for them then they can for themselves
3 white mans burden belief: think they have to take care of lesser and show them “the way” of life
4 it benevolted:helpful or beneficial cause of meds, agriculture, road ,etc.
why did america emerge as world power (turning point in history)
1 mass production of weapons (defenses) bigger guns (navy)
2 need to compete with europeans for markets=money
pressured to catch up with Europe (industrilists and coorperates say get involved)
3 prestige (honour) (were players on world stage now)
4 doing for cultural superiority/benevolent/noblesse oblige
5 finished “manifest destiny” now time for world
(went from east to west coast and think now time to take over world)
