Q

What to do if it does not factor?

A

Look for Conjugate Rule if it is 0/0

If it is R/0 then approaches ∞ or -∞, do one sided limits of the value and plug in close to that value to test if - or +

Q

How to find vertical asymptotes?

A

Set denom. = 0 and solve. Use those points and evaluate the limit of it. If it is ∞ or -∞, then it is an asymptote

Note: if it makes the denom. =0, then evaluate using one-sided limits and sign change
