We believe that continued obedient faith in Christ provides continuance in a state of salvation.
What does doctrine 9 mean
It means we have to continue to be obedient to Christ and have an ongoing relationship with Him in order to stay in a state of salvation.
Define apostasy
To reject or to turn one’s back upon
Define backsliding
falling away from God after being saved by Him
What causes or contributes to backsliding
Not being obedient to God and His will and failing to have a healthy relationship with Him.
what are some of the results of Backsliding
your heart becomes cold and willful acts of sin

being able to ask God to guide us and to forgive us.
what safeguards and resources (means of grace) are you drawing upon to keep yourself in a way of Christ

John 15:5 - if you stay in Christ, you can bear fruit; but once you leave, you can do nothing.
Hebrews 2:1-3 - if we drift away from our salvation we will receive punishment.
Revelation 2:4-5 - if we do not repent from rejecting our salvation, then we will surely fall

Universal Salvation - God’s saving grace is available to everyone.
Free will - Decision to follow God
Prevenient grace - Without God humans are incapable of being righteous; but by his grace we can be restored and transformed

Humans beings are sinful, however they are not irredeemably sinful and can be transformed by Gods Grace (Acts 2:37)
