we believe that, our first parents was created in a state of innocency, but by their disobedience they lost their purity and happiness, and that in consequence of their fall all men have become sinners, totally depraved, and as such are justly exposed to the wrath of God

Savior
one who saves, or rescues (NT: from sin (Matt. 1:21), death (John 3:16), the lost (Lu. 19:10), the world (John 3:17)
Redemption
is to buy back; restore what is lost (1 tim 2:6); the total saving work of God and Christ is our redeemer
the need for salvation
forgiveness, we have redemption through his blood and forgiveness of sins (Eph. 1:7)
Reconciliation, God reconciled us to himself through Christ (2 cor. 5:18-19)
freedom, we are set free from sin and a slave to righteousness (rom 6:17-18)
what are the 3 basic aspects of doctrine 6
the atoning death- the death of jesus
the provision- salvation for everyone
the response- person decision to be saved
atonement
to reconcile those who have been separated from each other
Old Testament Example of atonement
used to speak of individual sacrifices made by people to atone for their sins ( Lev. 1:1-4)
New Testament example of atonement
the act of Christ sacrifice; (Matt. 1:21)

there was a penalty to be paid and a moral quality to be dealt with.
