The killing of a human by another human. Makes no distinction between morally justifiable homicide and those that are not.

The killing of infants usually under one year old. In Ancient Rome this was a common and morally acceptable practice.
Murder
Legal term meaning homicide with malice and without excuse for justification.
1st degree murder
The defendant killed the victim with malice and it was pre-meditated. The pre-meditated requirement makes it difficult to prove 1st degree murder.
2nd degree murder
The defendant killed the victim and either had the intent to kill or inflict serious bodily harm that death was a likely result.
Manslaughter
Homicide without malice or without the intent to harm or cause death.
Voluntary manslaughter
You meant to kill but you didn’t have malice. You had a good reason for doing it.
Involuntary manslaughter
You didn’t mean to kill bit your actions were so grossly negligent that you. An held accountable for the death.
