Comprehensive Plan
Document that describes long term future conditions in a municipality
Long-term planning
Urban plans which have a time horizon in the range of 10, 15, or 25 years and are regularly reviewed to be up to date

Under subdivision regulation, transfer of private property to public

Environmental Assessment Form: form used to determine environmental significance of proposal
EIS
Environmental Impact Statement: written document prepared in accordance with SEQR analyzing the specific effects of a proposed action on the environment

Slope
Lead agency
Under SEQR, the agency principle responsible for implementing, funding, or approving an action
LEED
Leadership in energy and environmental design: green building certification system
LWRP
Local waterfront revitalization program: under NYS coastal management program.
Sight distance
Measurement of a straight line with an unobstructed view of a required distance; used in relation to design standards for roads and intersections
Site plan
Detailed plan showing the location of structures, parking areas, lightning, landscapes, drainage, and other development features for the physical improvement of a parcel a land
Special use permit
Authorization of particular land use which is permitted in a zoning ordinance, subject to requirements, to assure that that proposed use is harmony with such ordinance or lawn and will not adversely affect the neighborhood
Subdivision regulations
Locally adopted laws governing the division if land into smaller lots
Zoning ordinance
The division of land within a community into zones or districts that have specific land-use restrictions and controls regulation existing and future development within the area

Shows the positions of features without showing elevation

Voluntary agreement between a private landowner and a municipal agency or qualified not-for-profit corporation to restrict the development management or use of the land.
