Q

-Give an example of an upstream intervention and how it is a person’s choice about implementing it.

A

An example of an upstream intervention is a person adopting a healthy diet to lose weight. This is completely up to the individual’s choice because they have all the power to continue their unhealthy ways. An individual is more likely to shift toward a healthy lifestyle if they are informed of the health risks associated with obesity. Another factor increasing the chance of healthy eating is being educated about the benefits of a good diet. Resources also have to be available for the person to adopt a better diet; grocery stores and produce outlets are examples.
