IFC: Indications
Pain control and muscle stimulation
1. More comfortable at high intensity
2. Deeper penetration
3. Stimulation of large area
IFC: Parameters
- Interaction of 2 separate currents, which results in an interferential current.
- Frequency 1000-10,000 pps (defined by beat frequency)
Higher frequency, low amplitude = pain
Russian: Indications
Muscle Strengthening
Russian: Parameters
Low frequency, High amplitude = muscle contraction
High frequency with a polyphasic/bi-phasic waveform
Long inter-burst intervals
Short durations
TENS: Contraindications
Pregnancy
DVTs
Pacemaker
Peripheral vascular disease
