inferior - a structure below another
superior- a structure above another
Anterior and Posterior
Anterior- to the front of the body
Posterior- to the back of the body
dorsal and Vestral (coronal plane)
Dorsal - toward the back
Vestral- toward the front
Proximal and Distal
Proximal- closer to the point of attachment to the body than another structure
Distal- Farther from the point of attachment to the body
Lateral and Medial
Lateral- Away from the midline of the body
Medial- toward the middle of midline of the body
Superficial and Deep
Superficial- Toward or on the surface
Deep- away of below the surface
Anterosuperior and Midline
Anterosuperior- in front or above
Midline- A median line
Supine position and Prone position
Spine position- lying flat with face and torso facing upward
Prone Position- lying face down
