A species with a low number of individuals, that is in danger of becoming extinct.
Endemic
A species only found in one place on Earth.

The biotic and abiotic factors in the habitat of an organism.
Extinct
No more living individuals of the species.
Foraging
Searching for food.

Where an organism lives
Hypothesis
To give a possible but not yet proven explanation for something.
Inference
A conclusion reached based on evidence and reasoning.
Keel
Bone/cartilage extension of the sternum for pectoral (flight) muscles to attach.
Migration
Movement of individuals from one location to another.
Monomer
Single unit that is the building block of larger molecules
Niche
The role an organism holds in a habitat.
Nocturnal
An organism that is active at night.

Odorant receptors
Nerve endings in the nostrils that provide a sense of smell.
Polymer
A series of monomers joined together by chemical bonds.
Ratite
Any flightless bird species with a smooth, or raftlike sternum (breastbone). Ratites lack a keel on their sternum that flight muscles can be anchored to.
