A comprehensive viewpoint that explains the nature of reality, creates expectations and
provides meaning and purpose for people’s lives.
Matriarchal:
Women in charge or viewed with the power in society
Patriarchal:
Men in charge or viewed with the power in society
Sovereignty:
The right of the group to make decisions for themselves
Acculturation:
the process of two or more cultures adapting to each other so that people within the
cultures can interact with each other. There are 4 forms
Accommodation, Segregation, Assimilation, Annihilation.
Accommodation:
Cultures work together each remain a distinct group.
Segregation:
Groups separate themselves from the other.
Assimilation:
Changing both groups to be the same or changing one group to be like the other.
Annihilation:
Destroying one group.
Oligarchy:
A small group of elite with all of the decision making power.
Representative Government:
A governing body where the body is elected by the people to represent
them. Does not necessarily have power to make changes.
Responsible Government:
A governing body elected by the people to represent them and invested with
the power to make changes that effect the people.
Reformers:
A group that believed that the government should be accountable to the general populace
Loyalists:
Colonist loyal to the British crown.

How reformation connects to colonization
Reformation connects colonization because Martin Luther started his own religion which caused people to split between the different religions.
Who were the loyalist and what effect did the have on BNA
The loyalists were the rejections of republicanism after the revolution. They effected BNA because a lot of loyalists migrated there. Forced them to create a new colony because they felt the government wasn’t meeting there needs.
