- Theory of learning based on the idea that behaviors are acquired through conditioning, conditioning occurs through interaction with the environment

- The doctrine that structure is more important than function

- adaption to a person’s environment
- focused on how mental and behavioral processes function – how they enable the organism to adapt, survive, and flourish

- Perception of objects is different to each person

• It is the concept in which the body and mind are seen as separate things, distinct entities that interact with each other to make a person.

- Observation of one’s mental state
