an impervious layer of soil

causes rot because of to much water in soil

typically the decomposed dead remains of sphagnum moss

an amorphous volcanic glass that has a relatively high water content
Vermiculite
is a hydrous, silicate mineral that is classified as a phyllo-silicate and that expands greatly when heated

the physical disintegration and chemical decomposition of earth materials at or near the earth’s surfac
pH
a number between 0 and 14 that indicates if a chemical is an acid or a base; percentage of hydrogen ions
