What is Bail?
An amount of money given to a court to allow a prisoner to leave jail and return later for trial.
What is a Civil case?
Cases in which private citizens (or companies) sue each other in court.
What is Double Jeopardy?
Protection against the use by the state of certain multiple forms of prosecution.
A person cannot be tried twice for the same crime.
What is Due Process of Law?
Requirement that legal matters be resolved, both civil and criminal, fairly.
What is Eminent Domain?
The power of the government to take private property and convert it to public use.
What is Quartering of Troops?
Forced occupants to provide food and shelter for soldiers.
What is Self-Incrimination?
Intentional/unintentional act of providing information that will suggest your involvement in a crime/expose you to prosecution.
