Terms Flashcards
Modal class
The class with the highest frequency
Mean
All numbers added together/ quantity of numbers
Mode
Number with the highest frequency
Median
Middle number in data
Upper quartile
Above the middle number in top half of data
Lower quartile
Below the middle number in the lower half of data
Surd
A surd is an irrational root of a rational number to give an irrational number
Prime number
Only has factors of one and itself (2 is the only even prime number, 1 is not a prime number)

Found by multiplying all common factors together
Lowest common multiple
Found by multiplying all factors of both numbers together, common factors are only used once
Cumulative frequency
How frequency adds up as you move along the data/ through the table
Vectors
Have magnitude and direction
Scalar
Have either magnitude or direction but not both
Quantitative data
