Reify
make (something abstract) more concrete or real.
incongruity
the state of being incongruous or out of keeping.
strawman fallacy
misrepresenting someone’s argument to make it easier to attack
black-or-white fallacy
Where two alternative states are presented as the only possibilities, when in fact more possibilities exist (see “false dichotomy”)
false dichotomy
a logical fallacy in which a spectrum of possible options is misrepresented as an either-or choice between two mutually exclusive things (see “black-or-white fallacy”)
syllogism
an instance of a form of reasoning in which a conclusion is drawn from two given or assumed propositions, each of which shares a term with the conclusion, and shares a common or middle term not present in the conclusion (e.g., all dogs are animals; all animals have four legs; therefore all dogs have four legs ).
