metaphor
a figure of speech in which a word or phrase is applied to an object or action to which it is not literally applicable.
simile
a figure of speech involving the comparison of one thing with another thing of a different kind, used to make a description more emphatic or vivid (e.g., as brave as a lion, crazy like a fox ).
hyperbole
exaggerated statements or claims not meant to be taken literally.
personifactions
the attribution of a personal nature or human characteristics to something nonhuman, or the representation of an abstract quality in human form.
alliterations
the occurrence of the same letter or sound at the beginning of adjacent or closely connected words.
assonace
in poetry, the repetition of the sound of a vowel or diphthong in nonrhyming stressed syllables near enough to each other for the echo to be discernible (e.g., penitence, reticence ).
onomatopecia
the formation of a word from a sound associated with what is named (e.g. cuckoo, sizzle ).
flat character
A flat character is a two-dimensional character lacking depth or a real personality. Usually, flat characters have just one or two perfunctory traits.Sep 29, 2021
round character

static charcter
A static character is one that doesn’t change throughout the telling of the story, whereas dynamic characters are the opposite – they undergo significant internal and/or external changes. By the end of the story, dynamic characters are very different from how they were at the start.
dynamic character
What Is A Dynamic Character? A dynamic character is one who changes and evolves throughout the story. Often the protagonists of the novel, dynamic characters end the story as different people than they were at its beginning.
