The invisible plane that corresponds with the surface of the painting, like a window opening into another world

The arrangement of prismatic color on a circle so that complimentary colors are across from each other

The amount of black that is added to a color

Lines that emphasize the gesture of the hand, often expressive

A line that seems to be an expression of the artist’s emotion

Atmospheric Perspective
A form of perspective objects that are farther away appear in a bluish or grayish haze
Linear Perspective
A form of perspective in which lines of manmade objects are at right angles
Positioning
A method to depict depth in 2-D art where the further away object is placed higher and often diagonally from the closer object
Curator
A person who creates exhibitions at a museum by grouping together works of art by category or common theme

Someone who helps acquire and classify journal articles, digital sources, and books on art
